Pink Ribbon: The Pink Walk 2021
What we did
For the third year in a row youEngine has organized Pink Ribbon’s event the Pink Walk as a fundraiser for breast cancer research. This year we recruited Ella Leyers and Julie Taton as our two ambassadors to help spread the word and encourage people to take 10.000 steps a day in May to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
what we did
At the beginning of March 2021 we sent out the first press release regarding the national Pink Walk. In that press release we also revealed our ambassadors, Ella Leyers and Julie Taton. Through organic social media posts and social advertising we were able to reach more than 500.000 people.
Additionally, Ella was invited to the talk show Cooke & Verhulst that has 300.000 viewers on average. She used that opportunity to talk about The Pink Walk and encouraged people to take part with their friends, family and colleagues.
We also onboarded 312 different companies, including Carrefour, Nestlé, SBS, Roularta Media and Nationale Loterij, to participate in The Pink March. Furthermore, we had six partners that helped us support this event: Play 7, Roularta Media, NRJ, Wandelsport Vlaanderen, Wandelknooppunt and PeopleWare.
As a final push we set up an influencer campaign with a group of Flemish influencers that had a combined reach of over 1.000.000 people. Our combined efforts made sure that almost the entire was aware of the Pink Walk.
Finally, the Pink Walkwould not be possible without the help of the software developers of PeopleWare. We listened to the feedback of the participants and updated the platform accordingly. A fan favorite was the addition of a team list, so everybody could check where their team ranked compared to the others.
What our client got
The 2021 Pink Walk was the most successful edition with 31.622 participants, which was three times as much as during the previous edition. Moreover, the publications we realized in both digital and print media had a combined PR value of an incredible €1.238.632,77. Last but not least, the 2021 edition of The Pink Walk allowed us to donate €239.295 the Pink Ribbon fund.
Because of the growing success of The Pink Walk after only three editions, we decided that we would not wait another year with our iconic walking initiative. That’s why we are proud to announce that the next Pink Walk will already be starting in October 2021!
