WHAT WE DID
On Whit Monday, the 29th of May, youEngine organized the very first live event “Walk for Pink Ribbon” at The National Park Hoge Kempen, called ‘Terhills’ in Maasmechelen for its client Pink Ribbon. From partners and supporters of Pink Ribbon there was a demand for a live closing event to wrap the walking month of May, since May is also the month where the online walking challenge ‘The Pink Walk’ is held. Most participants on the walk took part for a dual purpose: both to support Pink Ribbon’s initiative and to exercise for their own health benefits. 1 in 3 cancer diagnoses can be avoided by conducting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. By exercising at least 30 minutes extra every day, you already make a good start.
WHAT OUR CLIENT GOT
The event was very succesful. Around 1,000 people made their way to the “Hoge Kempen National Park” in Limburg to walk in the fight against breast cancer. Hikers had a choice between three beautiful, varied trails through the park; 3.6 km for families with little children, 5.4 km for nature lovers and 9.5 km for keen walkers. Or they could make it more challenging and combine the three walks. After the walk, some partners were able to enjoy a ‘pink drink’ and a tasty, healthy snack in the VIP lounge in Maasmechelen Village.
The Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Corporation (in Dutch, Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie, VRT) also came by to make a short report, which was seen on the 7 o’clock news. Have a look at the report here.
